Competition Conditions

Conditions of Competition

The Rules of Golf as approved by R & A Rules Limited and the U.S.G.A and in addition the Local Rules as made and published by the Ladies Committee shall apply to all competitions. The committee reserves the right to alter, postpone, or abandon any competition. Ties in all competitions shall be decided as follows: last 18, 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes. If a tie cannot be resolved – Rule 33-1 Appendix B shall be taken into account with scoring applied in one half, one third and one sixth until a winner is decided.


 The Entire Calendar of Ladies Club Competitions is available to view on HDID. The Timesheet for the Weekly Qualifying Competitions opens 7 days prior to the round. Medal and Major Competitions timesheets are open 14 days in advance and are arranged by a Draw. This draw takes place the Wednesday(6 days) before a Medal/Major. The timesheet once drawn will be available on HDID, Club Website and on the Ladies Noticeboard. An email will also be sent. Additions or amendments to Draw competitions have to be submitted to the Competition Secretary and approved by the Captain of the Ladies Club no later than 48 hours before the Competition commences.

Time Zones for Ladies Weekly Competitions are as follows:

  • Saturday  12.00pm – 1:10pm
  • Tuesday   8:00am –  10:00am / 12:20pm – 14:20pm

During this period there will be 2 9 hole slots at 10.10am and 10.20am for Ladies entering the 9 hole Competition

Time Zones for Ladies Major Competitions are as follows:

  • Saturday  12.00pm – 1:10pm
  • Tuesday   8:00am –  10:00am / 12:20pm – 14:20pm

During the summer months the timesheet will be extended to include timeslots from 4:20pm – 5:00pm

Time Zones for Shared Majors are:

  • Saturday 12:00pm – 2:00pm
  • Sunday   12:00pm – 2:00pm

The Saturday timesheet for Shared Majors may be extended to 4:00pm to 4:30pm depending on demand for tee-times.

and Entry Fee

Failure to sign-in on the Computer BEFORE your round will result in disqualification. The System will not allow you to enter a score if you have not signed in and will be flagged to the Competitions team for review. In the event of a system issue – there will be a manual sign-in backup. Once you have signed-in, your entry fee to the competition will be deducted from your purse and a label printed for your card.

Score Entry

Failure to enter your score in the computer for singles competitions may result in disqualification, unless in the exceptional case the computer was out of order, and the player indicates this on his scorecard. This card must be signed by both player and marker. Failure to adhere to above will result in disqualification.


Results will appear on HDID on Tuesday evening. There will be an overall Competition result and individual daily scores to ensure the correct CSS is used for handicapping purposes. The Aggregate result will be used for Prize Purposes.


The Competitions Team upon checking scorecards may issue disqualifications. Common causes of DQ are:

  • Not Signed into Competition
  • Card Not Signed by Marker
  • Card Not Signed by Player
  • Incorrect Marking of Score
  • Failure to Return Card

DQ Reasons will be posted on the results sheet and members DQ’d will be notified of their breach.
