The first Men's Monthly Medal of the season completed today.

Conditions were extremely difficult, with strong and blustery winds and bitterly cold temperatures for April.

But cometh the wind, cometh and man and it was Pascal Duffy who conquered the elements and the field with a brilliant net one over 72. Pascal showed how to master the wind tee to green and was positively Tiger like on the greens. Well done Pascal, if only we had a green jacket!

Sean Cummins and Jimmy Fitzachary fought it out for second place with Sean edging the podium finish with a net 73 on countback.

A special congratulations to Daniel Coffey, Ballinascorneys youngest member, who shot a superb net 74. In normal circumstances Daniel would have taken fifth place, but unfortunately he didn't have the requisite three qualifying cards to allow him qualify for the place. Nevertheless, a brilliant performance by Daniel and with the appropriate cards in place he is clearly going to challenge strongly this year!

Watch out old timers!!

So despite Paddy Power speculation last weekend it was outsiders that ruled the roost, although Jimmy nearly proved the writer correct.

Note, two podium places for the Fitzachary's in the first Men's and Ladies medals of the year. A sign of things to come!!
