How do you go from bald eagle to birdie, birdie, birdie birdie man all within seven days? Well if you are Captain Jimmy it's all in a weeks golf!!

Out late in the morning Jimmy got off to a relatively mild start but he was smokin' from the 3rd as he went par, birdie, birdie, par, par to the 7th hole. An acceptable bogey on 8 gave way to yet another par on 9 and an outward nett 31. Unbelieveable Jeff!!!

Yet more of the same from 10 to 14 which went par, par, par, birdie, birdie. Frankly, he will soon need a loft for all the birdies! Being Captain and not wanting to demoralise his fellow members Jimmy settled for bogeys from 15 through 17. But inevitably the showman in the Fitzachary kid came through on 18 as he sank another tricky putt for par in front of the Clubhouse. A gross 73 in the end, just two over par.

Astonishing round from an astonishing Captain!

Jim Holland made a great charge on Sunday afternoon. Pars on 1 and 3 set Jim on his way to an outward 33 as his solid hole by hole consistency set in. So two under on the turn a run was needed. His round smouldered but the sparks were not catching until a super up and down par on 14 was quickly followed by a drive and two putts on 15. Now the Clubhouse leader was counting his birdies for real! Unfortunately, a great putt on 16 just wouldn't drop and 17 proved a hole too far as the medal finally drifted away. A par on 18 proved a good consolation, securing second place. Super golf Jim!

In third place we had May medal winner Ben Davidson. Ben had set the pace early on Saturday morning. Having taken until the 5th hole to finally get the sleep out of his eyes he recovered from a shaky start to hit an outward 35. Pars on 14 and 18 were critical on the way back with 16 and 17 also gaining shots from his sharp drives and some brilliant wedge play. A nett 66 in the end suggesting Ben might be an ongoing challenger for the majors. His mother was thrilled!

A superb Medal competition yet again. It is a mark of the quality of the golf that the top six were all under nett 70.

Congratulations to all that played and well done Captain on a really spectacular round!
