Another supreme performance from the Men this afternoon as they put a brave Milicent team to the sword.

Captain Jimmy and John Tobin led by example taking control of their match early on. Once they get in front they are so difficult to contain and so it proved. They dominated the front nine setting themselves up for a convincing win on 14. If that pair are formidable think of what it's like to come up against Ger and Liam Redmond! I can almost have sympathy for our opposition. Faced with our beautiful rolling fairways and Thomastown like greens no doubt they thought this will be a breeze. Then Ger and Liam teed off! This one finished on 12, that's right 12. The two lads imposed themselves from the outset and were fully deserved winners.

Martin McGlynn and Neil McDonnell were called in on the 15th green. Huge congratulations to Milicents Padraig Ging who walked off the 15th tee with a hole in one. A superb long iron to the full 220 yards for the shot of a lifetime!

Meanwhile over in Clane, Finbarr Mahony and Larry Mooney also controlled their match brilliantly and romped home 3 and 2. Our remaining pair of Jim Kennedy and Mick O'Boyle were called in while in a typically strong position.

A brilliant outcome, huge congratulations to all involved, players and management. Gerry Lawlor has changed his name to Gareth Southgate!
